Rug cleaning for Graduation Ceremony at Portsmouth Guildhall.

We were asked to clean four rather large rugs which were to be put down on the platform for the University of Portsmouth graduation ceremony at the Portsmouth Guildhall!

The rugs are usually kept in storage for eleven months of the year, and are so large that you need a fork-lift or hoist to move them. We were fortunate that here at Mist-a-Rug, our rug plant was big enough to accommodate these ‘giants’!

So after a thorough inspection, to check that there wasn’t any fibre staining or pre-existing damage, we proceeded to extract fine dust & soil from the rug. Next we spot tested to ensure there wasn’t any colour-run or dye-bleed, and then flushed out any previous detergent residue. Then we cleaned the rug & exhaustively, rinsed it again and finally dried it off  thoroughly!
